3 Day Western Canyon Motor Raft Trip

Trip Logistics:

You will meet at the Las Vegas Marriott at 6:10am on the morning of day 1. You will then be transported to the Boulder Airport for a flight to Bar10 Ranch. Shortly after, you will board a helicopter for an exciting ride down to the river to meet your crew and will begin rafting/camping/hiking the Western most part of the Colorado river in the Grand Canyon. Late morning of day 3 you will board a jet boat and enjoy the scenic ride to the upper region of Lake Mead where you will board an air conditioned bus  for the return to Las Vegas Marriott between 2:30-3:30pm.  Flight reservations departing Las Vegas on this day should not be scheduled before 6pm. There is a discounted room rate at the Las Vegas Marriott available for Grand Canyon rafters.

Motor Raft Trip

Motor trips are the most popular of all trip types. There are more motor trip launches than any other combined, among all of the outfitters. Typical launches include 2 rafts, and group sizes between 22-28 depending on the outfitter. There are upper, lower, western and full canyon trips offered on motor rafts. Some full canyon trips continue straight through with the same group of passengers, while others will make a pit-stop to let off upper canyon passengers, and allow for lower canyon trip passengers to join the group for the rest of the trip.

Payment and cancellation policies:

  • Deposits are nonrefundable and required to reserve your space(s):
    • $750/person for 6&7 Day Trips
    • $500/person for 3&4 Day Trips
    • If booking within 120 days prior of trip start, full payment is due in order to reserve your spaces
  • Payment policy:
    • Final payment is due 120 days prior to trip start date and is nonrefundable
    • Processing fee:    
      • There is a 2.5% processing fee per the outfitter for all of their Grand Canyon raft trips 
  • Cancellation policy:
    • The outfitter reserves the right to cancel your reservation if full payment is not collected by due date
    • Updates to contact info, cancellations or name changes must be received in writing
    • In the event you have to cancel you may wish to consider:
      • Trip or date transfer - prior to 120 days of trip departure can be made for $75 fee/person, within 120 days no transfers are allowed:
        • Transfers to a later season are not allowed
      • Substituting members on your reservation - submissions within 120 days of departure will incur a $50 fee/person
        • Replacement passenger name/phone number/email address must be submitted at time of request
      • File your trip insurance claim with your personal provider more information below
    • This outfitter will not refund for and is not responsible for any expenses incurred due to:
      • Arriving late or leaving a trip early whether voluntary or caused by other circumstances
      • Travel delays, flight cancellations, or illness
    • This outfitter assumes no financial responsibility for personal injury, emergency evacuation or personal equipment lost or damaged in any way
    • In the even that this outfitter is forced to cancel any portion of the direct services provided by this outfitter or contractors due to unsafe water levels, wildfire, flooding or other unforeseen circumstances, this outfitter will refund the portion of the unavailable services. However, in these cases, refunds will not be given for flights or other travel expenses to the trip.

Additional Trip Dates

IconFirst Day

You will meet at the Marriott Las Vegas, NV and be driven to Boulder airport to be flown to Bar 10 Ranch. Shortly after you will be helicoptered into the canyon to begin rafting on day 1.

IconEvery Day

Each day you will be on and off the raft multiple times. Each itinerary regardless of the outfitter, includes daily side canyon hiking opportunities to some of the most beautiful scenery the Grand Canyon has to offer. After enjoying the excitement of fun rapids, you will stop for lunch which is prepared river-side on a beautiful sandy beach. You will be entertained with fascinating information on the history, geology, and ecology of the canyon. Often, there is another stop after lunch before arriving at camp for the evening. Tents are always available however depending on the season, many opt to sleep under the stars each night.

IconLast Day

Early afternoon of the final day you will board jet boat and enjoy the scenic ride to the upper region of Lake Mead where you will board an air conditioned bus  for the return to Las Vegas McCarran Airport between 2:30-3:30pm.  Flight reservations departing Las Vegas on this day should not be scheduled before 6pm.
